The Visionary Behind Knot Your Average Events

Since 1998, Jennifer Ball, the founder and lead event planner at Knot Your Average Events, has carved a niche in the industry by specializing in weddings. She has had the honor of orchestrating an impressive 650+ events, with the count steadily growing when including collaborative efforts with other event companies.

Jennifer's journey into wedding coordination began with a personal story — her first wedding. Motivated by the desire to spare others from missing special moments like her first dance and cake cutting, she vowed to ensure every couple's day is as magical and peaceful as possible.

Her extensive background includes a decade as a site manager, sales consultant, and wedding planner for a venue, where she witnessed couples being exhausted on their big day, missing key appointments, and cleaning up in their wedding attire. This experience fueled her commitment to making sure no one else's special moments are missed.

Jennifer saw an opportunity over a decade ago to create a guest experience like no other. The mission is clear — allowing the wedding party to relax, ensuring parents are present, wowing guests with a unique and magical experience, and, most importantly, sparing families the post-event cleanup.

Teaching & Speaking

Jennifer's commitment to education extends to public speaking engagements around the world. She was an adjunct professor for UNCG for 13 years, High Point University for 2 years, and Alamance Community College for 6 years until she stepped away from the classroom to focus solely on her clients both locally and internationally.

Beyond her certifications, Jennifer has actively contributed to the industry as a local, national, and international guest speaker at several conferences worldwide. She's also a co-author of the Planners Unplugged Book Project.
